Competition Entry Terms and Conditions

The Promoter and Data Controller of this Competition is Rateswitch Ltd, trading as Accelerate My Mortgage.

The Competition is open to all homeowners in the United Kingdom who are aged 18 or over and who have a current residential mortgage for the home they live in permanently, except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Competition. No purchase is necessary.

The Competition will work as indicated by the Promoter on its website, including entry requirements and details. Two overall winners of the Competition will win an amount equivalent to their contractual monthly mortgage payment as verified by the Promoter or £1,000, whichever is the lower amount. Two additional winners will win an Amazon eGift Card to the value of £100.

The overall Competition winners will be chosen via a prize draw by Rateswitch Ltd at its total discretion. The additional winners will be chosen via a prize draw by Rateswitch Ltd from two subset of entrants as determined by the result of the overall prize winners. The decision of the Promoter in relation to the Competition is final. No correspondence will be entered into. The Competition will run to 11.59pm on the 30th of November 2020 (the “Competition Period”) unless extended by the Promoter at its discretion and notified to entrants. Any entries outside of the Competition Period will not be counted. No information regarding entries or judging will be disclosed to any third party not involved in the conduct of the Competition. The prizes are not transferable, re-saleable or exchangeable.

Prize winners will be contacted via email based on the details provided in their Accelerate My Mortgage account. The winners will be informed within 28 days of the end of the Competition. The winners must respond to notification of their prize within 48 hours otherwise the right to claim the prize will be lost and the Promoter reserves the right to re-award the prize. The winner must respond to any request for mortgage information from the Promoter required to verify their eligibility to claim the prize within 7 days of being notified of their prize, otherwise the right to claim the prize will be lost and the Promoter reserves the right to re-award the prize. The winners must provide adequate and conclusive proof of mortgage payments, as determined by the Promoter, within 7 days of being notified of their prize, otherwise the right to claim the prize will be lost and the Promoter reserves the right to re-award the prize. The Promoter also reserves the right to confirm the mortgage details of people referred to by the winners to ensure they are mortgage paying homeowners and reserves the right to re-award the prize if these details cannot be confirmed for any reason.

By entering, participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules. All entry instructions form part of these Terms and Conditions.

The Promoter may exercise its sole discretion to use the winners' (and (if applicable) their companions') names, details, image and their comments relating to the prize and Competition experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice or without any fee being paid. Personal data which is provided by entrants when they enter will be held and used by the Promoter in order to administer the Competition. Aggregate, non personal data may also be used for the purpose of undertaking market research or in facilitating reviews, developments and improvements to relevant services. By submitting their personal details, the entrant agrees to the Promoter processing those details in accordance with the purposes made known to the entrant at the time of collection and in accordance with the Promoter's privacy policy which can be viewed here. The Promoter shall comply with all applicable requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation, any successor legislation or other applicable law.

No entries from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computers will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Any entries not in accordance with the entry instructions will be rejected. Any entries containing offensive or inappropriate content will be removed.

The Promoter’s decision is final and binding in all matters relating to the promotion. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoters reserve the right to offer alternative prizes of equal or greater value.

Any tax or other charges payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received will be the responsibilities of the winners. The winners should seek independent financial advice prior to accepting a prize if this is a concern. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, alter or terminate this promotion at any time due to circumstances beyond its control.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the Promoter's liability for death or personal injury caused by their staff or supplier’s negligence or for fraud. Subject to this, the Promoter cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition or as a result of accepting any prize. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the competition. The Promoter cannot promise that the services relating to the Competition will be free from errors or omissions nor that they will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition. These services may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons reasonably beyond the control of the Promoter. The Promoter will not be liable in the event that all or any part of the service relating to the Competition is discontinued, modified or changed in any way.

These rules are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
